towards the Islamic Republic regime in Iran in all ways possible.
People of Sanandaj, in conjunction with other cities in Kurdistan, in Support of the uprising of the people
of Mahabad and in protest against
the repressive atmosphere created by the regime in the region
have organised a peaceful public demonstration in the city.
The demonstration soon spread to all areas of the city including,
Safri Avenue, Esteqlal
Park, 6 Bahman, Taj, Ferdawsi,
Shahpour Nabwat,
Wakil, Gendarmerie, Namaki, Kurdistan
Square and Qataechian.
The security forces present in the city
and with the help of reinforcement from Esphan and Kermanshah have attacked the demonstrations
and fired in to the crowd with tear gas and live bullets.
Resulting in six dead and dozens of peoples injured. The
demonstrators has responded to this heavy handed action from
the security forces with attacking the government owned offices
and vehicles and setting them on fire.
Today as we are writing this communiqué
we are receiving news of yet another attack by security forces
on peaceful demonstration in the city of Saqez resulting in at least 5 dead and scores of injured.
This wave of protest and demonstration of
the people of Kurdistan begun on 13th July, the
anniversary of the terror of Dr Qasemlu
by the Iranian governments agents, and in protest against
the appointment of the terrorist Mahmood
Ahmed nejad. The protest intensified
when the news of the brutal murder of a young Kurdish activist
( Shewana)
reached the demonstrators.
International Institutions, Democratic Goverments
and Human Right organisations,
In a multi national Iran, in comparison with the Fars nationals, nationalities such as Baluch, Azerbayjan Turks, Torkeman, Arab and Kurd are deprived from basic civil and
political rights. This national oppression and discrimination
results in protests and demonstrations which will continue
until the right of these nationalities are recognised within
the framework of a democratic federal system.
With this, as the parties and organisations
representing the oppressed nationalities in Iran, we appeal to you to support the just struggle for freedom of Kurds,
Baluch, Azerbayjan Turks, Torkeman, Khozestani Arab and to prevent the
further destruction and bloodshed in Kurdistan.
