Mr. José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero
Secretario General Comisión Ejecutiva Federal

Dear Mr. Zapatero,
on behalf of the Socialist Party of Kurdistan (Turkey) I
would like to congratulate you and all the members of the
PSOE for being successful in the elections and wish you all
the best by formation of the new government.
Once again we condemn the terror attacks committed against
innocent people, express our sympathy to the families of the
victims, and wish soon recovery to the wounded.
Our country Kurdistan is divided into four parts. The Kurds,
a nation of more than 40 millions, are forced to live under
repressive anti-democratic conditions with the exception of
the new Iraq.
The Kurdish people who are denied their basic national and
democratic rights, whose land is occupied, villages burnt
and destroyed, who have been the victims of genocide attacks
in Halabja and the Al-Anfal campaigns, will need the support
of international community to gain their national and democratic
rights.
We hope you will not deprive the Kurds of your support.
We hope you will raise with Turkey, who wants to become a
member of the European Union, their obligations to implement
the political criteria of Copenhagen and recognize the national
and democratic rights of the Kurdish people in Turkey.
We are expecting the continuation of your country’s contribution
in the rebuilding of Iraq, where Kurds have been able to breath
a sigh of relief.
We are also hoping that you will not be silent about the
attacks on Kurds in Syria by Arab nationalists and security
forces.
Hoping that you will take the request of the Kurds for assistance
into consideration, we wish you all the best.
Yours sincerely,
Mesud Tek
Secretary General
